Working in our Classified Roads Program you will provide supervisory and operational functions to ensure efficient services for the Walcha Community.
The Position
This position is required to carry out a variety of tasks associated with the efficient delivery of Council's Classified Roads program in the Walcha LGA. It is a significant leadership role, with supervisory and operational requirements.

About You
You will have experience in road construction and maintenance, the operation of heavy plant and excellent leadership qualities. Importantly you will be able to lead and develop staff in one of Council’s most important areas. You will put worker safety first and be able to coordinate works across all Council teams. You will be practical and have a can-do mindset. You will have experience in Traffic Control and be able to complete the paperwork necessary to lead our team. You may be required to operate plant, and provide training in plant operations to your team. You will be able to work independently as required and contribute to Council’s Continual Improvement Program. You may be required to work on an on-call roster for the provision of emergency services.
What we Offer
This is a permanent full-time position (38 hours per week) starting at $1390.55 per week (gross), based on Band 2 Level 2 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. You will enjoy one RDO every fortnight. Overtime, Superannuation and allowances are payable in addition to the starting wage.
